The Young InPPO Group recently hosted its first “InPPO-Lite” on-line Tutorial Seminar. The format of this event was four 40 minute sessions, each hosted by an early career researcher on a topic that should be of interest to a large section of the proteomics community – with plenty of time for questions. The aim was to emulate Master Class Series hosted by other societies in their fields of expertise. We heard sessions on rescoring peptide matches; intact protein analyses; large proteo/genomics analysis and protein network analyses.
We would like this become a more regular event and to be as accessible as possible, however, there is a cost to attend. The cost associated with running the meeting itself is very minor, so most proceeds go towards supporting the next in-person conference. InPPO does not charge a membership fee, and it is important to support our conference organizers as much as possible, including financially.
For those who attended, I hope you got as much out of the first InPPO Lite session as I did. If you have ideas or suggestions for the next InPPO Lite session, please let me know (chris.rampitsch@agr.gc.ca), bearing in mind that the purpose of the series is ultimately to teach, rather than to summarize and present your own research.
I sincerely hope you can attend the next InPPO Lite session in 2025.
